Airi had been working diligently in the secretarial section of a leading company for years. However, due to the recent deterioration of business performance, the company had to restructure. This caused a great deal of stress and worry for all employees, including Airi. And she had good reason to be worried because she was also targeted as part of the company’s restructuring efforts.
In order to prevent being fired, the company implicitly recommended to Airi that she retire. This was a difficult decision for her, as she did not want to leave her job. In a desperate attempt to keep her job, Airi resorted to begging and pleading with the president.
