Kenichi had always prided himself on being able to manage the family business that his late father had left behind. It wasn’t easy running a small town factory, but he and his wife Yui were determined to make it work. However, as the months passed, they found themselves struggling to keep up with the finances.

Yui, who had initially taken charge of the accounts, soon realized that her skills in this area were limited. She did her best to balance the books, but sometimes mistakes happened. And when those errors added up, they left them in a precarious position. They barely made enough sales to cover their costs, let alone pay off debts or invest in new equipment.

As the end of each month approached, Kenichi would frantically search for ways to cut back expenses. He would cycle to nearby towns to try and sell some of their products, hoping to find buyers willing to part with cash. But these efforts never seemed to be enough. By the time bills came due, there simply weren’t enough funds left over to cover everything.

It all came to a head one fateful day, when Kenichi received an urgent call from the bank informing him that they would have to close down the factory if they didn’t pay their outstanding debts within two weeks. Panic set in as Kenichi racked his brain trying to think of a solution. He knew that selling any more stock wouldn’t bring in enough money to save the business, and they couldn’t afford to take out another loan either.

Feeling lost and defeated, Kenichi turned to someone he hoped could help: the teacher who had married him and Yui several years prior. The woman listened patiently as Kenichi explained their predicament, and then offered a surprising suggestion: she would lend them the money they needed, without any interest charges whatsoever.
